From the open plains of Masai Mara, the shimmery pink waters of Lake Nakuru and the swamps of Amboseli, this safari takes in three of the most picturesque regions in Kenya. It also provides the perfect opportunity to spot the Big-5 and to capture some diverse scenery.
This is a scheduled tour and starts on a specific date. Scheduled tours are available for those who wish to travel in groups and offer a more affordable option. However, they are customisable on an individual basis, for a slightly higher rate, if you prefer not to travel with a group.
7 days / 6 nights – Nairobi • Masai Mara • Lake Nakuru • Amboseli National Park
Nairobi – Nairobi is the capital and largest city of Kenya.
Masai Mara – All members of the “Big Five” (lion, leopard, African elephant, African buffalo, and Black Rhinoceros) are found in the Maasai Mara .
Lake Nakuru – The park supports a wide ecological diversity with Flamingos (Greater and Lesser) and other water birds being the major attractions of the area.
Amboseli National Park – The park is famous for being the best place in Africa to get close to free-ranging elephants.
Day 2-3: Masai Mara
Leaving Nairobi after breakfast, you’ll travel towards Kenya’s fertile highlands and head down the Rift Escarpment. You’ll pass the impressive Longonot earth satellite station as you head across the Valley to Narok, and reach your lodge in time for lunch. There will be an afternoon game drive and you’ll overnight at Mara Simba. The next day you can enjoy morning and afternoon game drives and another night at the lodge.
Day 4: Lake Nakuru National Park
Leaving the Masai Mara after breakfast, you’ll travel across the ‘breadbasket’ of Kenya, as you head north to Narok, the district headquarters of this part of Maasailand. Then you’ll travel across the vast plains of the Rift Valley and head up the Mau Escarpment, before arriving at Lake Nakuru. After lunch, depart for an afternoon game drive in Nakuru National Park. Overnight at Lake Nakuru Lodge, in the heart of one of Kenya’s most densely populated wetland National Parks.
Day 5-6: Amboseli National Park
After an early breakfast, you will depart Lake Nakuru with a picnic lunch, leaving the Rift Valley. Continue towards Nairobi and then head south towards Amboseli, with an afternoon game drive in the park enroute to the Ol Tukai Lodge for the night, at the foot of Mt Kilimanjaro, the highest mountain in Africa. Next day, enjoy morning and afternoon game drives in Amboseli, returning to the lodge as the sun sets.
Day 7: Nairobi
Following an early breakfast, you’ll catch your last views of the majestic Mount Kilimanjaro as you depart Amboseli viewing game en route to the border of the park. From here you’ll travel to the colourful border town of Namanga, and then the never ending Athi Plains, arriving in Kenya’s bustling capital city of Nairobi by midday. Once in the city, you will be dropped off at a city centre hotel or the airport for your ongoing travel arrangements.
